New build, contemporary residence in collaboration with leading Melbourne design practice, Inarc Architects. Our client’s brief was to create an intricately detailed and timeless family home with design sympathetic to its heritage protected neighbouring streetscape. An imposing mature Pinoak tree centrally splits the property, this drove much of the design direction and layout of the project. With highly layered and understated elegant detail prominent in all facets of the project, material selection focuses on extensive use of organic materials with facade treatment emphasis on hand made elongated bricks married with custom grey timber lining boards.
Complementing the slate clad dual hipped roofline, bespoke steel plate shrouds envelope the building on two elevations and no less than six balconies ensure each internal zone is provided with unique outdoor experience and discreet privacy.
The result is a stately, technologically sophisticated residence that sensitively sits within its heritage surrounds whilst concurrently providing its own strong identity.
